Baptism must be arranged with the priest. If this is your first child, you will need to go through instructions prior to Baptism. During your instruction time you will discuss what your responsibilities are to your child as Catholic parents, and how you raise your child in the Catholic Church. At least one sponsor must be a Catholic, and if married must be married in the church and practicing his/her faith.

This is celebrated when a child is in the 2nd grade and can understand mortal sin. This is a powerful Sacrament for adults as well. Why go to confession instead of just telling God? Confession also helps build the virtue of humility. Humility is the first step towards true repentance (Mt 23:12). Because pride is the root of all sin, an act of humility such as confessing to a priest will help push out the pride in our lives (Ex 16:49-50). In addition, the priest can keep us more objective about our sins. If we go directly to God in the privacy of our own home, we can deceive ourselves. We can either be too harsh or too lenient. Reconciliation is celebrated in December.
This is celebrated in the 2nd grade in the spring after a child or adult has first celebrated the sacrament of Reconciliation. Our young people are welcomed to the banquet of the Lord for the first time with this Sacrament.

Stewardship of Time Talent and Treasure.
Your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven. Mt 5:16The time, talent and treasure that you give to Assumption Church or to help others in the community is really a return to God a portion of all He has given you. Whether you are signing up for something new or re-committing to something you've done for 20 years, your commitment is important! Giving of time is a richly rewarding and important part of being a member of Christ's Church!
Time and talent commitment forms are done in the fall.
